Frequently asked questions
What metadata does StripMeta remove?
EXIF (camera model, settings, timestamps), GPS coordinates, and PDF metadata (author, producer, creation dates, XMP). Everything visible in the before/after preview is gone from the exported file.
Which file formats are supported?
Images (JPEG, HEIC, PNG, TIFF) and PDF. Drop a folder and StripMeta handles the batch in one pass.
Are my original files changed?
No. StripMeta writes a clean copy to the export folder of your choice. The original stays untouched.
Does anything leave my Mac?
No. StripMeta has no network connection, no analytics, no telemetry. Every file is processed entirely on-device.
How do I get a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, and select the purchase.
